What is your favorite place in Detroit?

Adam: It’s been the beginning of my journey into breaking out and DJing, starting with open decks and then being gifted with a residency once a month, that growing, and meeting people. It has become a home.

Chris: For me, I like the aesthetics and the energy of it. They fit my style of music that I like to play. I feel like my art and my music work well with the aesthetics of the High Dive.

Andrea: The overall welcoming atmosphere, with the open decks, but even the people gathering there and the interactions you have – especially with David providing the opportunity. It’s a good spot and it’s something different. It’s a hidden gem that not many people know about.

Calum: That’s what I was going to say, it’s definitely a hidden gem. There’s a number of people that I’ve brought there that had no idea that it existed and left there fucking loving it. It’s got very interesting energy. It’s a little weird and off-the-wall, some people don’t like it, but the people that do like it, love it.

Glen: Definitely a family vibe there. Pretty much at all times you can run into someone there that you can relate with, or someone’s there that’s approachable at any given moment. There’s several different vibes you can get from that place. You can go in there and just chill on a weeknight and have a beer and relax, or you can be in there dancing super hard – balls to the wall – with some strangers you’ve never met. There’s a very vast range of vibes in that place that are all enjoyable. Play some pool and kick it, kick it on the patio out front or kick it on the completely different vibe patio out back. It brings whatever vibe you want.

Jan: I think you can feel the love and passion that David has put into it. Everything is so detailed, all the red lights, everything fits and is there for a purpose. It’s his art and you can see and feel that.

You can find The High Dive at 11474 Joseph Campau Ave, Hamtramck, MI 48212
