Background Story:
When I first came to Detroit I was a server at Pete’s Place in Ferndale. This was my favorite dish on the menu. Simple, flavorful and slightly spicy. Add more red pepper flakes for more fire.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 Pound Rigatoni
- 4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 4 Cloves Garlic
- 1 Pound Italian Sausage
- ½ Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 Bell Pepper, Sliced
- ¼ Pound Kale, Chopped
- ¼ Cup Parmesan
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Cook Rigatoni per instructions.
- Cook Italian sausage, red pepper flakes, and garlic in the olive oil, over medium heat, until just cooked through.
- Add sliced bell peppers and kale, cook until still al dente, about 3 minutes.
- Toss rigatoni with sausage mixture.
- Stir in parmesan.
- Enjoy!
